“The BEGIN New Venture Center’s affordability, business services support, facilities and involvement with our target market clients were just ideal for our small business!”
Sam Jones and Larry Brown started WorkNet, Inc. after they received notification from the Social Security Administration that their proposal to supply job placement services for SSA beneficiaries was accepted. While WorkNet’s “Ticket to Work” program was approved for a multi-year national contract, Sam and Larry knew they still needed some help getting their business firmly established.
When they heard about St. Patrick Center’s BEGIN New Venture Center (BNVC) small business incubator, WorkNet identified with the mission sensitivity of the program. “Our goals and visions matched perfectly,” says Sam. “We are both assisting our less fortunate citizens to help them obtain a better quality of life.”
In just a few months after signing on as a resident company in the BNVC, WorkNet has grown tremendously and provided a number of meaningful job training opportunities to St. Patrick Center clients! “Thanks to the various relationships we are establishing with employers and other support organizations, we are able to say, ‘Contact WorkNet and WORK NOW!’” adds Sam.
