“The mission of St. Patrick Center has always been a passion of mine. Seeing how people change their lives makes me very humble as a business owner.”

Lisa Simpson owns Sweeties to Go, a gourmet cake shop with a twist. “We are known for our specialty cakes,” says Lisa. “We can make virtually anything out of cake!” In fact, she has always strived to create innovative and delicious works of art that display her unique skills as a pastry chef.

In addition, Lisa has always aimed to go above and beyond to help someone in need, which is why she sought out St. Patrick Center’s BEGIN New Venture Center small business incubator as the place to help grow her business. “It was one of the few places where I could get everything I needed under one roof, including potential employees!”

When the BEGIN New Venture Center opened in October 2008 on St. Patrick Center’s fourth floor, Sweeties to Go was one of the first businesses to sign on as an affiliate company. “Not only has the program allowed me to partner with other companies, it’s also provided the opportunity to give back by training St. Patrick Center clients.”
