“I think that God put St. Patrick Center in my life for me to get better, and now there’s only one way for me to go and that’s up.”
Javonna remembers the days after her mother died when she would walk the streets in her drug addiction, with nowhere to go. This young mother of ten children, including three sets of twins, has been to treatment 27 times. “There was something inside of me that kept giving me hope, and I refused to die in my addiction.”
When Javonna first came to St. Patrick Center, she was nervous and didn’t know if she would be able to change. But within a month of participating in the BEST program, she gained confidence and truly felt part of the St. Patrick Center team. “The BEST program was the first job I’ve had in five years, and it really gave me something to strive for.”
Javonna has been clean and sober for several months now. “My life is great! Most of my kids are back in my life again. I get to see them every weekend and plan to reunite with all of them and build better relationships.”
Javonna’s goals for her future also include going to college for drug and alcohol counseling, and getting a permanent job. Plus, she would like to volunteer for and donate to St. Patrick Center some day!
