- A donor called one day to see what was on our “wish list” for in-kind donations. That same day, he came to SPC with his family and donated 48 sets of food, coats and blankets!
- When Henry was released from prison at age 58, he worked with AARP and later got a job as a GED instructor. Now about one of his students acquires his/her GED each month!
- 2010 was a fantastic year for the GO! Green and City Seeds horticulture and landscaping employment program, with 35 of the 45 graduates securing employment in the green industry!
- 2 Jennings Educational Training School students received their high school diplomas!
- After living on the streets for more than a year, Hannah received her Shelter Plus Care voucher and moved into her apartment!
- When Jon was released from prison, he had few supports but was ready to turn his life around and focus on his role in the community. He was later hired as a case manager assisting exoffenders in the same program that helped him!
- A Fast Track GED student is taking the test for entrance into Ranken Technical College.
- More than 100 clients received brand new, fitted tennis shoes through a Soles for Souls distribution in November 2010.
- Tom has been working for three months as a nursing assistant!
