Pot O’ Gold raises nearly $46,000 for St. Patrick Center clients!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 22, 2011

St. Patrick Center announced today that its 2011 Pot O’ Gold Kettle Drive raised nearly $46,000 to benefit the agency’s clients struggling with homelessness and poverty. The event March 11 and 12 was held at 24 Schnucks locations. During these two days, donors dropped cash and change into special rainbow kettles at these sites.

“I truly appreciate being included in the Pot O’ Gold Kettle Drive each year for St. Patrick Center,” says Steve Ryan, store manager at the Schnucks store in Des Peres. “It is such a worthwhile cause that gives our entire Schnucks Des Peres team a great sense of pride and satisfaction. We will always be excited to participate and contribute to St. Patrick Center.”

In addition, Pots O’ Gold were on-site at various business and organization locations including Anheuser-Busch, Edward Jones, Emdeon, the Dubliner, the Gatesworth and the International Free & Accepted Modern Masons, Inc. and Order of Eastern Star.

“We continue to be astounded by the generosity of the St. Louis community during this event,”  says Greg Vogelweid, Interim St. Patrick Center CEO and Chief Operating Officer. “Our volunteers and partners are true ambassadors of our mission to build permanent, positive change and we are incredibly grateful for their efforts.”

The 8th Annual Pot O’ Gold Kettle Drive was made possible by nearly 300 volunteer “leprechauns”, who stepped up in groups of friends, relatives, co-workers and classmates to raise awareness of St. Patrick Center.

MISSION:
St. Patrick Center provides opportunities for self-sufficiency and dignity to persons who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Individuals achieve permanent, positive changes in their lives through affordable housing, sound mental health, employment and financial stability.
