“Brickman’s staff was so impressed with the knowledge and skills of St. Patrick Center clients!”

After hearing about Veterans GO! Green, one of St. Patrick Center’s newest job training programs that helps reintegrate veterans into meaningful employment in the green industry, Brickman Group invited the clients enrolled in the program to participate in the company’s annual Founders Day project. Brickman Group, the nation’s largest landscaping company first instituted a company-wide Founders Day in 1990 to encourages employees in each of its 125+ branches to take a paid day off to pursue community service activities.

The Founders Day project in which Brickman asked Veterans GO! Green clients to participate involved a complete external makeover of the landscape façade of the Demetrius Johnson Charitable Foundation Center in University City. St. Patrick Center clients worked side by side with Brickman Group management to complete the donated landscape install and completely transformed the façade of the new community center.

”Brickman’s staff was so impressed with the knowledge and skills of our clients that they have asked to be able to participate with future Veterans GO! Green classes,” says Veterans GO! Green Job Developer Shawn Thomason. “In addition, they asked that the current class submit applications for employment with Brickman!”
