Impact of St. Patrick’s Irish Open: $412,000 raised will end homelessness for 206 clients and their families
St. Patrick Center announced today that the 27th Annual St. Patrick’s Irish Open raised revenue to move 206 clients and their families from homelessness to housing. The $412,000 in net revenue received from the dinner auction and golf tournament provides programs, services, case work, rent, utilities and more for agency clients working toward their independence and financial security.
“We are thrilled that we will be able to help change the lives of 206 families who are working hard to build permanent, positive change and move on to lives of independence and self-sufficiency,” says St. Patrick Center CEO Tom Etling. “We know that these outcomes are only possible by the tremendous support of dozens of corporate sponsors, individual dinner auction and golf tournament donors, as well as event volunteers.”
The Gatesworth at One McKnight Place, the very best in senior living, was Lead Sponsor of the June 4 dinner auction and June 6 golf tournament. “We are honored to be the lead sponsor of the 2011 St. Patrick’s Irish Open,” says Mike Doyle, Event Chair and Chief Financial Officer of The Gatesworth at One McKnight Place. “We know that every dollar raised through this event creates meaningful and lasting impact, and we’re proud to be a part of that.”
At the June 4 dinner auction at the five-star Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis, the sold-out ballroom of 470 guests raised their bid cards to help move families into housing. Auctioneers Adam Jokisch and Chris Kerber sold 29 live auction items, including popular vacations exploring Napa Valley wineries, fishing in the Bahamas and golfing in Florida.
The success continued at the June 6 golf tournament at Norwood Hills Country Club. 298 golfers hit the links to help end homelessness. Morning winners of the 1st place “A” flight were Jim Agnew, Craig Parres, Bob Ryan, Msgr. Shamleffer and Gary VanMeter. Afternoon West Course winners of the 1st place “A” flight were Jack Brennan, Fr. Finbarr Dowling, Darren Longren John Moloney and Ted Moloney. Afternoon East Course winners of the 1st place “A” flight were Steve Benz, Stephen Benz, Drew Pranger, Marty Pranger and Zach Pranger.
