We have good news to share about Charlotte!

“It feels good to work again. If I can do it, you can do it.”

When Charlotte moved to St. Louis from Kansas City, she didn’t have a plan. As an addict, she was lost, homeless and without a desire to meet her purpose. She stayed in a shelter but calls it a living hell where you fit in when you don’t want to.

Charlotte came to St. Patrick Center and enrolled in the Livings Skills program. She learned to open up, and something inside her ticked. She decided to be on the winning team and progressed toward a better and more positive life.

Charlotte took advantage of several agency programs available to her, including education classes and the Alumni Club. She observed and listened. Soon, she left the shelter for St. Patrick Center’s Women’s Night Program, and learned she was not alone, that all of the women could help each other.

Most recently, Charlotte participated in the restaurant job training program at McMurphy’s Grill. She is looking forward to getting a job at in the restaurant business, and is saving money for a place to call home.

Best of all, Charlotte has been sober for more than a year!
