We have good news to share about Danita!
“I am determined to make use of every resource I can in order to improve my family’s quality of life.”
Danita went to prison for six months for forgery, leaving two daughters behind. When she was released, this 29-year old mother realized the neighborhood her children were growing up in had become unsafe, and they would have to move.
Danita came to St. Patrick Center and enrolled in Project REACH. Case managers say she demonstrated unprecedented determination to set goals and improve herself, in order to be a better role model for her kids.
Danita completed Project REACH’s job readiness class and enrolled in a 12-week computer class with a local community college. She was also hired part-time for a customer service position at a local business.
Because of her commitment as both employee and student, Danita also improved on her role as mother – she was able to move herself and her daughters into a small apartment in a safe neighborhood.
Thanks to Danielle Ralston in Project REACH for contributing to this story!
