Brittany Campbell has been permanently, positively changed

“I’m grateful that I came to St. Patrick Center, otherwise I think
I would have given up and something bad would have happened.”

As a teenager, Brittany Campbell was down, hopeless and doing things she shouldn’t be doing. She was in and out of school and jobs. The last stable home she remembers was when she was 13. She was homeless, and had to leave her son with his Grandmother. She stayed in a women’s shelter because she had nowhere else to go.

Brittany was referred to St. Patrick Center, where she enrolled in the Living Skills class and learned many valuable skills, including budgeting her money. After Living Skills graduation, she and her son moved into an apartment, and that was just the success she needed to stay focused and stable. “I knew I could do it,” Brittany says. “I had been through so much and now I know what I have and I’m not going to mess it up.”

Having a place to call home has brightened other areas of Brittany’s life, too. She enjoys taking her two children to the library and the park, places she did not get to see.

“Things are not perfect but they are good,” Brittany says. “I’m a better mother and I’m raising my children to be strong-minded adults.”

Brittany is enjoying a more stable life now. She loves her apartment. “I’m so happy we have a place to call our own.”
