Edward Chew has been permanently, positively changed

“St. Patrick Center showed me that no matter how low you go, there’s always hope; no matter what you did, they’re willing to work with you and give you a chance.”

Edward Chew says he was once a walking drug store, using every kind of drug he could, including marijuana and crack cocaine. Edward lost custody of his three children, and went to prison for 15 years. He was homeless when he was released, and had nowhere to go.

“I was at a low, but knew I wanted something different,” Edward says. “I knew life on the streets would not get any better, and I owed my children something better than that.”

Edward came to St. Patrick Center’s Alumni Club and received the help he needed to get into a treatment center and get sober. He also participated in other St. Patrick Center programs to help him get his life back on track.

Today, Edward lives in his own place, and is back in touch with his children. He has a job and loves the people he works with. And he knows St. Patrick Center played a role in helping him change his life. “Alumni Club is part of my life and I cannot live without it,” Edward adds.
